Girls + Trains and Why Would You Put That There

I guess this marks the start of two slow-running projects. The first is something tentatively titled Girls and Trains:

This project will be a chronicle of my time in NYC where hopefully I will find some form of satisfaction. Mostly though it will deal with the stupid things that tend to happen to me.
You probably won't be seeing this very often, as I hope to release it as a graphic novel soon.

The second is going to be called Why Would You Put That There, and will be short sketches about ridiculous shit that happens in video games, possibly with a vocal accompaniment by myself and my amico Vladimir Medel.

I'll try to put one or two up every week. I guess it depends on how much time I spend actually playing the video games.

Full first comic is up! Read it at http://wwyptt.tumblr.com/

New Thing

The piece as a whole is a little iffy, but I liked doing the inking. Very relaxing

Edit: This guy, too.

Moldorm

Overdue. I've been working in a new style, too, but my camera's out of batteries, so that will have to wait.

CHILL AUWT

A new Game Over piece, along with the Moldorm one. Check that one out on my portfolio site at afinis.carbonmade.com. Oh, also I now own a Macbook Pro and am trying to create a personalized brand. It's called SPLNDd. I don't know what I'll use it for, yet.

Web Portfolio!

It's been a while since I posted here. I've been so busy. Part of that load has been building a small web portfolio over at

afinis.carbonmade.com

which means you should totally head over there and see a slightly more professional presentation. Have to work on that and this a lot more!

Grappler Concept!

Here's a full color concept of Grappler, something's missing, though. I think he'll get a redesign somewhere down the line, sharpen those whites up. Anyway I'm busy with a character who isn't necessarily his villain, but is definitely an antagonist. Sketches below!

Grappler Sketches!

Here are a few sketches for a platformer character I'm considering. Simple guy, moves right, jumps high, sent to save the village and discover the world. He's a lot of fun to draw in motion. I'm calling him Grappler.

Opposites Day

An appealing character in cool colors and an unappealing character in warm. A fun assignment, and it helped me figure out a good method. Some more work on the way in a day or two!

Opposites Day sketches

Fairly self explanatory. The actual opposites day pieces are coming up next.

Difficulties

For some reason all of my image uploads have been rejected for the past week or so. I'm still working on figuring this out, but when I do you can bet there'll be quite an upload.

Mythophoric Characters (part A)

Digital seems to be on the rise. Both of these pieces were made for Shanth Enjeti's Character Design class at RISD. One represents the phrase "Challenging" and the other "Obstructive." Can you guess which is which?

Digital and Traditional

After having been very much against digital work for quite some time I've decided to give it a shot. I have found it to be good. These are examples of my usual processes for both types of work.
